Overview
We are seeking a skilled OSP Engineer to support all aspects of outside plant engineering. This role includes engineering line extensions for service orders, pole replacement projects, facility installations, and relocations. The ideal candidate will have experience with OSP staking, preparing comprehensive work order packages (including field notes, schematics, and cut sheets), and obtaining necessary permits and private rights-of-way. A strong understanding of OSP design, planning, and construction methods is essential, along with the ability to perform cost analyses to identify efficient and cost-effective solutions for the placement of communication facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fieldwork including site surveys, pole surveys, and data collection to support permitting (joint-use, municipal, city, county, and railroad authorities).
- Perform field assessments for relocation projects, including pole replacements.
- Interact with customers and conduct site surveys as needed.
- Ability to perform Katapult annotation & make ready a major plus.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Experience with aerial, buried, and underground outside plant engineering; construction experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with relocation projects in metropolitan and suburban areas.
- Experience coordinating with DOT and local municipalities.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is highly desirable.
- Experience using Katapult is required
