Mountain Ltd. is looking for an OSP Engineer to work Remotely supporting EST/CST time zone!

OSP Engineer – MDU 
We are seeking contractor OSP Engineers to support hourly engineering work associated with feeder fiber design for MDU properties. Resources will be responsible for designing and reviewing outside plant fiber solutions that extend feeder fiber from the existing network to apartment, condominium, dormitory, and other multi-building properties, including routing fiber to buildings located on the property.

Responsibilities

  • Design feeder fiber routes to serve MDU developments from existing network facilities.

  • Create and review aerial and underground OSP designs.

  • Determine placement of conduit, handholes, splice points, and related outside plant infrastructure.

  • Review rough work, field notes, and CAD design packages and provide revision feedback as needed. 

  • Ensure design packages are complete and ready for permitting and construction release. 

  • Coordinate with project management, permitting, CAD, construction, and field teams.

  • Support revisions resulting from permit comments, field conditions, or scope changes.

  • Review redlines and as-built documentation.

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of OSP fiber design experience

  • Experience with feeder fiber engineering

  • Experience supporting MDU or multi-building property designs

  • Knowledge of aerial and underground construction practices

  • Ability to review and approve CAD-based OSP design packages

  • Experience with route mapping, splice planning, and permit support

Engagement Type

  • Hourly contractor support

  • Work assigned on a task/order basis

  • Expected to manage multiple projects and meet design intervals / due dates

  • Must be able to work independently and participate in design review calls as needed

  • Complete assigned designs within agreed service intervals

  • Provide designs that meet engineering, permitting, and construction quality standards

  • Minimize rework through strong quality review before submittal

  • Respond to clarification questions and revision requests within established turnaround times

  • Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control

  • Must be able to support EST/CST operations (location flexible within the U.S.).
