Traffic Control Planning Manager
Mountain Ltd. is seeking a Traffic Control Planning Manager to lead and support our growing traffic control planning team. This position may be worked remotely or at a Mountain Ltd. office if within a commutable distance. The Traffic Control Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Traffic Control Planning team, producing high-quality traffic control plans (TCPs), and performing quality control reviews to ensure compliance with client, municipal, and state requirements.
The ideal candidate is a leader with hands-on experience in traffic control planning and a commitment to accuracy. TCDS and/or TCS certification in Washington state are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support the Traffic Control Planning team in a remote work environment
  • Develop and produce traffic control plans for utility, telecommunications, and infrastructure projects
  • Review and perform quality control checks on TCPs to ensure compliance with state and local agency requirements
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical support to team members
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, municipalities, and clients regarding traffic control requirements and approvals
  • Ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines
  • Maintain knowledge of current traffic control standards, regulations, and permitting requirements
  • Assist with process improvements, workflow management, and team development initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in traffic control planning, traffic management, or related field
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in traffic control plan development and drafting software
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently in a remote setting

Required Certifications
Candidates must possess one or more of the following Washington State certifications:

  • TCDS (Traffic Control Design Specialist)
  • TCS (Traffic Control Supervisor)

Pay to commensurate with experience starting at $35/hr
