HEATHER ADAMS, CTS
Always striving to produce top-quality work, Heather says she demands a lot of herself, something she learned growing up with a father who was both a drill sergeant in the Marine Corps, and a police officer. She says his philosophy of, "If you can't do it right, don't do it at all," reinforced values of persistence and self-discipline, tools she applies to her career by being organized, sticking to a daily plan and setting goals. But, Heather also balances the structure of work with more creative outlets, by enjoying faux painting, interior decorating and home crafts. One of her favorite hobbies is in turning "trash to treasure", which means taking old or worn out items and applying her painting and craft techniques to make them useful and decorative again.
Born in Portland, and raised in Naples, Heather currently lives in Biddeford, but she says she wants to move back to the lakes region very soon so she can be closer to her friends and enjoy time with her two-year old pug, Ethel. After high school, she went on to earn her Associates degree in Business from the University of Southern Maine and Andover College.
During college, Heather worked as an intern at Unum, a company she would later return to as a member of their long-term disability claims department. She also spent time interning as a paralegal with the U.S. Attorney's office, working on estate planning and researching foreclosure and bankruptcy cases. When she later returned to the insurance industry in a sales position, Heather realized she had some great communication skills and really enjoyed working directly with people. With a good foundation in both research and sales skills, when MOUNTAIN offered a position in recruiting, she knew she found the perfect fit. Focusing most of her efforts on IT recruiting with some Telecom work, Heather says her clients can always count on her to provide the highest quality of service.
